If you’ve ever walked around the school, you’ve probably seen countless pieces of art displayed. You’ve probably seen some of the drama productions or been to last year’s talent show. There are people in this school with hidden talents that we wouldn’t even know about. From dancing to spoken word, there are many forms of art that take shape in our school and here are a few people that you may or may not know about.
Sasha Fuchko, 11
Michael: Do you consider yourself an artist?
Sasha: I consider myself someone who attempts to be an artist.
Michael: What type of art do you do?
Sasha: Cartoony or realistic.
Michael: What made you start drawing?
Sarah: Boredom. I remember being really young and wanting to draw Mickey Mouse and I asked my mom to draw Mickey Mouse for me and she was like no do it yourself and then I did it and I just kept going from there. M: So you’ve been drawing since then? How old were you again? S: Like four or five. M: What is your inspiration? S: Anything I see or read or watch normally, it gives me something to think about. M: Do you have any advice for anyone trying to get into this kind of art? S: Always keep drawing and try to find something really weird and draw that. M: Do you have any advice for people who are looking to trying new kinds of art? S: Look up what other people have drawn or find other people who you know are artist and look at what they’ve drawn and ask them for help. M: Is there anything you think you can improve? S: Yes. Perspective. I’m very bad with perspective but I’m working on that.

Kev: I’d probably say, it was an odd start, I started with a videogame, taking pictures of cars and from there it just grew into more. I used my phone and bought a camera two years ago. Kai: What type of camera? Kev: A Nikon D3 2.0 Kai: How long have you been doing photography? Kev: With my camera, two years now and without it about three or four years. Micheal: Where do you like to take pictures? Kev: I’ll go to events. Like last year I went to the Dogwood Festival. I go to a few races in Atlanta and take pictures there as well. M: Do you take pictures of events that are happening? Just locally? Just to see if anyone wants them? Kev: No, I haven’t asked if anyone would want anything particular. Like I went to the Chalktoberfest and took pictures there. That’s the most recent event I went to. M:Do you make money off of this? How so?
Kev: Yes. Not consistently. I took pictures for a friend of mine for senior pictures and I sold a print or two just from people contacting me through my website that I have.
Kai: What is your main theme? If you were to choose one thing to take pictures of what would it be?
Kev: Cars.
M: How can people find your art?
Kev: You can find me on Instagram @kevinbarrett45 or my website which is kevinscandids.weebley.com.
