Breakfast For The Week

During the week it is hard to make breakfast unless you want to get up at the crack of dawn. However if something is left over from Sunday morning , you can heat it and eat it throughout the week. It is a wonderful few days of solace without the mountainous ultimatum between cereal or nothing.

Waffles are one of the best things that life has to offer. All of those crevices pocketing butter and syrup in a majestically warm embrace. Here is a recipe that I have perfected for the absolute best waffles that will make you want to push the limits that your stomach can hold.

Ingredients:

  • 1 ⅓ Cups of All Purpose Flour

  • 2 Tablespoons of Sugar

  • 1 Tablespoon of Baking Powder

  • ¼ Teaspoon of Salt

  • 2 Eggs

  • 1 ¾ Cups of Milk

  • ½ Cup of Coconut oil

  • 2 Teaspoons of Vanilla

  • Whatever Spices you may Enjoy

1) In a medium sized bowl, mix together the dry ingredients and add the spices of your preference, if you choose to do so. I like to sprinkle in Ground Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Ginger and Cloves.

2) In another medium sized bowl, mix together the wet ingredients, aside from the coconut oil

3) Mix together the wet and dry mixtures. Microwave the Coconut oil for 20-30 seconds then add it to the batter. The batter should be slightly lumpy

4) Coat the Waffle Iron with a light layer of Coconut oil to prevent the sticking and tearing of the waffles.

5) Pour/Scoop the correct amount of batter and cook it to the directions of your Waffle Iron.

French toast is one of those breakfast foods that always feel like home. The variety of flavors you can include to make it unique are endless: cinnamon, strawberry, banana, even Nutella. Here’s a recipe on classic cinnamon french toast.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract

  4. Incorporate the egg mixture into the dry ingredients and whisk together

  5. Spray your skillet/griddle with a non-stick cooking spray

  6. Submerge a slice of bread into the mixture until fully coated on both sides

  7. Place the coated bread on the skillet
