Athlete Profiles: Football Edition

Tavion Walker is a senior wide receiver on the football team. He is interested in attending West Virginia University, University of Pikeville, Georgia State University, or University of West Alabama. He has been playing football since fifth grade and enjoys watching the St.Louis Rams and Arizona Cardinals. His favorite college football team is the Florida Gators.

Fun Fact: He loves chocolate fudge brownies.

Hunter Arters is our junior quarterback on the football team and has been playing for ten years. He is only interested in attending colleges out of state, though he loves the Georgia Bulldogs. He is a loyal New England Patriots fan. His favorite game this season was against North Paulding because we won by a field goal with two seconds left.

Fun Fact: Hunter has trained under Bryson Parks and Matthew Wilson since his freshman year.

Chigoziem Okonkwo is a junior wide receiver who has been playing football since third grade. He is interested in attending Stanford University, University of Georgia, University of Tennessee, Clemson University, or the University of Mississippi. Like Hunter, his favorite game this season was against North Paulding. He loves the Atlanta Falcons, but does not have a favorite college football team. He has been an avid Golden State Warriors fan since middle school.

Fun Fact: He was born in Kyoto, Japan and has a 4.0 GPA.

Deonta Coker is a senior football player who plays on the defensive line and as a linebacker. He is interested in attending Louisiana State University, Clemson University, or University of Alabama. He has been playing for fourteen years. He loves to watch the New Orleans Saints and the Alabama Crimson Tide on the weekends. North Paulding was also his favorite game saying, “It was such a big game and the end was so exciting.”

Fun Fact: He loves to watch cartoons when he is by himself, especially Naruto.

Jason Pierce is our junior kicker and punter. He has been kicking since the age of four, but didn’t start playing football until his freshman year of high school. He is also a fan of Alabama’s college football team and the Atlanta Falcons. In the North Cobb game, he kicked a 46 yard field goal.

Fun Fact: Jason is an only child.
