Confused Weather

After last week’s bonfire was canceled due to dangers caused by Georgia’s drought, the students of Hillgrove have some words for Georgia's Weather.

From “Causing our Hawks to lose”, as Sophomore Lauren Andrews strongly mentioned, to “... confusing me on what to wear to school” as Eve Ludy stated, or “... just simply our country needing to accept that global warming is a thing,” according to Lauren Rodger, however you feel most of us can agree that the weather is a pain.

The weather here in Georgia can drive you crazy especially when swings between brisk mornings and scorching evenings. Students who drive to school don't really endure the confusion but bus riders do especially when the walk to and from the bus stop is lengthy.

“I wear layers, so in the morning I am warm and in the afternoon I can take off my hoodie to endure the warm Georgia weather.” Lauren Rodgers stated. You’ll even see some students bringing blankets to class to keep the warm in their cold classrooms and the bus. Now we aren't completely sure if this classifies as breaking dress code or just causing a distraction, but it sure is a trend the students here tend to follow.

Some Students link this climate change to a reminder that Global Warming is happening. In Mrs.Scroggs Honors Chemistry we interviewed two students about their opinion on global warming.

Ben Mat commented that “Climate change is definitely a thing, due to many years of research and just factual evidence, Georgia weather is definitely annoying and unreliable, In the times like this I like to wear a hoodie or sweater over my top so that no matter the temperature I am prepared and not freezing or burning up.”

However Mason Blum just relates the weird weather to a southern thing and refuses to admit that global warming or sudden climate change is a thing. “I wear shorts majority of the year based on comfortability and also availability, the day gets hotter in the fall months so it’s ok, I personally don't believe that Global Warming isn issue, it's just a southern thing,” he casually mentioned.

As the Summer months come to a closing and Winter approaches, the climate seems to be stuck in the middle. Some of us arent sure whether to keep enjoying the warm weather and dressing as if fall doesnt exist ot breaking out the snow boots and your favorite columbia jacket. No matter what you standpoint or idea as to why the weather is uncertain, weather is a chang we can all count on.
