On January 25, the organic superstore chain Sprouts opened a new branch in Powder Springs after a long construction period. Here at Hillgrove, students are excited for the beginning of a local Sprouts, and some have even found work there.
‘“It’s really nice, like, it’s brand new, and it’s always busy, so it makes time go by faster, and it’s really nice,” gushes Clare Hines, a new employee. “They have the best sushi ever, and I eat it all the time. They have these little, like, chocolate covered peanut clusters, and I eat those like anything. So, yeah, I think those are my favorite. I eat there, like, all the time.”
Others are just fans of the store. Madalyn Owen, a vegetarian, appreciates the store dedication to keeping food healthy:
“I think that it’s really cool that they have all these organic foods… I like healthy food, so it’s cool going in there and finding different things.”
But you don’t have to be a vegetarian or employee to enjoy Sprouts. In fact, Dara Shippee, doesn’t even think that the vegetables are the best part. When asked about her favorite part, she replied:
“The deli there. It’s just really good, because their meats are really high quality.”
It’s not just the products that are valued at Sprouts, though.
“It’s a lot cheaper than most grocery stores. Like, their organic and non-GMO stuff,” says Shippee.
Powder Springs looks to be a promising new location for Sprouts, with an immediate fan base flocking to its healthy products and low prices. It also seems like an enjoyable work environment, which is especially useful for teenagers looking for part-time jobs, especially in a workplace that encourages a healthy lifestyle.
