HAHS On the Rise!

Hillgrove Athletic Honors Society just started up! It is a fantastic club for all athletes. It recognizes athletes who work just as hard in the classroom as they work on the field or the court. If you are thinking about joining, you must have a 3.5 GPA and be in good standing with your coach. So far, there are softball players, golfers, baseball players, lacrosse players, and cross country runners. ALL athletes are welcome to join and are encouraged to join. All plans for this club aren’t decided yet, but they are planning to team up with clubs such as Friends club and are planning to go places such as Calvary Children’s Home and potentially team up with Boys and Girls club.

Members are required to earn 7-10 hours of community hours, as well as attend at least four different athletic events. If you are interested in joining, you can come to one of the meetings, which is on every third Wednesday of every month at 7:45 am, or talk to Coach Alverson. Dues are $25, and should be paid to Ms. Nelson. The contract should be turned in to Coach Alverson.

This club is a great one to join if you’re an athlete, willing/ wanting to experience new sports, and wanting to help others. But remember, you have to keep your grades up to stay in the club! It is just on the rise, so if you have any questions or suggestions you would like to make to improve this new club, feel free to tell Coach Alverson.
