Ragtime is Quickly Approaching!

Set in 1903 New York, Ragtime is a musical about 3 societal groups-whites, immigrants, and blacks-that overcome their differences to come together for justice in their city. The play’s opening is on March 17th and will be performed on the 18th, 24th, and 25th at the low ticket price of $7 for students, giving no one an excuse to miss it.

Filled with conflicts, heartwarming moments, passion, intensity, and music, Ragtime is an emotional roller coaster everyone wants to ride and Hillgrove is putting it on for all to enjoy.

Anyone that has ever seen a Hillgrove Drama production can tell you that they are a pleasant surprise. The students in the drama program are so talented they’ll make you laugh out loud and maybe even cry and leave you wanting more. Whether or not the plot is for you, Ragtime will surely open your eyes to a world you never knew existed and give you a broader knowledge on life and suppression in the 1900’s.

Abby Brake(12), who plays a New Rochelle citizen and an immigrant, says that the audience will “really like the story because it’s still relevant now.”

Brandon O’Banion (12) plays a conductor and says that people will get a lot out of it because “it applies to modern-day society.”

If you’re looking for something new and fun to experience instead of the common athletic activities, come out and enjoy a unique take on the original play you didn’t even know you were missing from your life. Seeing Ragtime will make you thrilled enough to keep tabs on upcoming different Hillgrove Drama productions.
