The 10th annual Taste of West Cobb is coming on April 29th this year and it looks like this year’s event is going to be one of the best the Hillgrove Band program has ever hosted. It will be held from 11am to 5pm outside on the gym side parking lot (if weather permitting, if not, the event will be held inside). You can purchase tickets from any band student or parent from now until the event, or you can just buy a ticket at the event. With every ticket, which are sold one for $10, you get 10 ‘taste tickets’ which you can use for food, games, and even for raffle prizes! The event will have many vendors from around West Cobb (for example: La Parilla, Chick Fil A, Smallcakes, etc.) along with fun things to do for children, such as bouncy houses, and carnival-like games, and princesses will be there for kids to meet and take pictures with!! Besides food and games, there will also be performances by performing arts groups from around West Cobb (like the Hillgrove High School Marching Band, and the Hillgrove Jazz Bands, along with many more groups). Not only does Taste of West Cobb benefit the band program, it benefits our community, Emily Sanders, a rising Senior in the Hillgrove band program says that, “The Taste of West Cobb helps sponsor different vendors in the community” . And even though TOWC is an event to help out the band program, not only people with ties to the band are allowed to go, Tory Bartlett, a student at Hillgrove High school says “ Yes, I will be attending the Taste of West Cobb because it is a really fun event!” (Junior, Tory Bartlett). The Taste of West Cobb is a great way to learn more about the services in your community, and it is sure to give you a feel--or maybe even a taste or what West Cobb is all about!
