Our Lady Hawks soccer team has won the Region 7A championships. The Hillgrove Lady Hawks soccer team went undefeated in region play, 10 wins, zero losses. Key starters, known as “The trio,” Mollie Williams, Amaya Evans, and Erin Carleton, rack up most of the goals. Also, midfielders such as Aya Fakih, Mackenzie Ramey, and Annamarie Arino, have worked to keep possession and make plays. The back line, Camryn Davis, Devin Pushee, Morgan Epps, and Audrey Brennan have done a tremendous job, keeping ceded goals to a minimum.
To be successful, the players focus on the importance of team chemistry. Camryn Davis, right back, says, “I communicate with the back line, and help direct our underclassmen keepers.” The team aims to come together and stay positive, to do well in playoffs coming up next week.
Even though the team has already come so far, and has done so well, there are still many things to work on. Center back, Devin Pushee says, “We need to work on communication and connecting from the back line through the midfield, up to our strikers. Also, we need to work on picking a spot when we shoot, and moving off the ball.”
Our Lady Hawks soccer team expects to go out and give 100% effort and work hard, going as far as they can. The girls plan to continue to have intense practices, getting better every day.
